SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal shooting and have identified the victim as as 31 year-old Anterio D. Deshazer of Topeka.
On Saturday, police were dispatched to an injury accident near SE 21st street and SE Illinois Avenue in Topeka, according to Lt. Aaron Jones.
Upon arrival they discovered one of the two occupants, later identified as Deshazer, was suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police took the second occupant, a woman, into custody. Police released no additional details early Monday.
