Career criminal accused of holding Kan. teen runaway against her will

RENO COUNTy— A Kansas man with a history of crime is accused of rape and kidnapping.

Tyrone Eugene Carter, 51, Hutchinson, had his initial appearance before judge Daniel Gilligan Friday.

He is accused of holding a 15-year-old runaway from Wichita against her will, drugging her and having sex with her. He was booked into jail just after 2 p.m. Thursday and is being held on $175,000 bond.

Carter has over twenty convictions that include theft, forgery, aggravated battery, robbery, aggravated failure to appear and for drugs, according to the Kansas Dept. of Corrections.

Carter will have another court appearance next week.
