SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating one of two suspicious deaths in Topeka have made an arrest in one case on Sunday.
Just after 5:00 a.m., Sunday, police responded to a call for service in the 1400 block of SW Van Buren in Topeka after the report of a deceased man, according to Lt. Shane Hilton. Officers found a man later identified as 73-year-old Charles Jackson of Topeka. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, police arrested Jennifer Jackson, 50, of Topeka booked her into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Murder in the 1st degree, according to Hilton.
