There was a gas leak at the Geary County Senior Center about 10 a.m. Friday. The building was safely evacuated and authorities red flagged a stove that was used to cook food.
Debbie LaCroix confirmed that food cooked on that stove Friday had to be discarded, and quotes will be sought on a new stove. As a result there will not be any meals served at the Center and no home deliveries on Friday.
Seniors who were at the facility at the time of the gas leak were sent home and staff were later allowed to return inside the building.
