KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal shooting outside an apartment building.
Just after 6p.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to the sound of gun shots in the area of 10300 E. 42nd Street in Kansas City, according to Officer Leslie Foreman.
The call was upgraded to a shooting and officers observed a vehicle in the parking lot and a man inside of the vehicle who had been shot and was unresponsive. Officers began life-saving measures at that time. EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Police did not have any suspect information late Tuesday.
Detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene and are actively canvassed for witnesses and processing the scene for evidence. Police did not release the name of the victim.
