WYANDOTTE COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 5p.m. Wednesday in Wyandotte County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Chevy Cruze driven by Helena Ophelia Tolano-Mouncey, 50, Leavenworth, made an improper turn onto Kansas 7 from Hollingsworth Road. A 2014 Ford Focus driven by Ishi Cowins Dean, Jr., 19, Lansing, was unable to stop and the Ford struck the Chevy.
Tolano-Mouncey was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to to Frontier Forensics. EMS transported Dean to KU Medical Center. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the crash, according to the KHP.
