PRATT COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 6a.m. Tuesday in Pratt County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Chevy Silverado driven by Carla Ann Woods, 61, Haviland, was eastbound on U.S. 54 one mile west of Pratt.
The pickup veered into the south ditch. The driver attempted to turn back onto the roadway, lost control and the pickup began to slide broadside into the west bound lane of traffic.
A 2007 Freightliner semi driven by Felix Moreno-Mateo, 32, Wichita, struck the pickup.
Woods was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Larrison Mortuary.
Moreno-Mateo was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
