Police locate driver in Kan. hit-and-run that injured woman, killed dog

DOUGLAS COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a hit-and-run incident that critically injured a woman and killed. her dog have located the vehicle involved, according to the Lawrence Police Department.

On Monday, the driver of a vehicle captured on security camera struck a 74-year-old woman and a dog at 23rd and Barker in Lawrence. The woman was hospitalized with critical injuries, and the dog was killed. The driver never stopped.  

Police reported late Tuesday they have interviewed the driver and continue to investigate.
