Police: 2 suspects stealing Visa prepay cards across Kansas

SALINA —Law enforcement authorities are investigating fraud involving the theft of prepaid Visa cards at Walmart stores in Kansas.

The two suspects used the cards at the Walmart in Salina, according to Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester.

Investigators have learned that just after 7a.m. on May 17, two female suspects entered the Walmart, 2900 South Ninth in Salina and grabbed 20 Visa prepay cards off the rack, according to Forrester.

The suspects then split up and went to two different registers where they utilized an employee pin number to access the register and put funds on each of 10 of the cards. The total loss was $2,600.

The suspects have reportedly been traveling to different WalMart stores in Kansas conducting the same scheme, according to Forrester.

Police are reviewing surveillance video.
