FORD COUNTY —A Kansas man died in an accident just after 2p.m. Tuesday in Ford County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Olds Bravada driven by Gaylord Howard Moritz, 87, Spearville, was southbound on 126 Road and stopped at the stop sign for U.S 50.
The driver then failed to yield to a westbound 1996 International semi driven by Bret Duane Lancaster, 61, Offerle. The semi struck the SUV.
EMS transported Moritz and Lancaster to Western Plains Medical Center where Moritz died. The drivers were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
