
Jackson County —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a wanted Kansas man on new charges after an arrest.
Just after 10:30p.m. Tuesday, a Sheriff's Deputy stopped a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer on U.S. Highway 75 near 302nd Road for a traffic infraction, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
The stop resulted in the arrest of the rear seat passenger who was identified as Damon Lynn Smith, 26, of Lansing, Kansas.
Deputies booked Smith into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of distribution of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no drug tax stamp.
Smith also had an outstanding warrant for distribution of a hallucinogenic drug out of Atchison, County, and three outstanding warrants out of Lyon County, according to Morse.
