KANSAS CITY—Two Kansas City men face multiple felony charges in connection to a fatal mass shooting in Kansas City, Missouri.
Jeremy Rodgers and Alvin Johnson each face 1st Degree Murder, three counts of Armed Criminal Action, and two counts Unlawful Use of a Weapon, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson.
On May 24, 2025, Kansas City police responded to a shooting near 56th Street and Troost Avenue, according to court records. Police were notified that three people arrived at a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds, including one who was pronounced deceased while receiving medical attention.
Surveillance footage showed Rodgers walking toward the victims and then fire several times. The crowd scattered as Rodgers fled through the parking lot and entered the passenger side of a vehicle.
Detectives used cellphone data, surveillance footage, and license plate readers to connect both Rodgers and Johnson to the scene.
A Jackson County judge set each the defendants’ bond at $500,000 cash only.
