SHERMAN COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a bomb threat at in Goodland.
Just before 2:30p.m. Wednesday, an unidentified individual contacted Walmart, 2160 Commerce Road in Goodland and reported multiple pipe bombs were inside the store and threatened to detonate them, according to a media release
Law enforcement including Goodland Police, the Sherman County Sheriff's Office, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Goodland Rural FIre Department, Sherman County EMS and the Kansas Highway Patrol responded and safely evacuated the store. As a precaution, the roads surrounding Walmart were temporarily closed.
A Kansas Highway Patrol K9 unit conducted a thorough search of the store and didn't find an suspicious devices. The Goodland Police Department is aware of similar threats reported at Walmart stores in other states.
