CRAWFORD COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 4p.m. Monday in Crawford County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1988 Chevy Blazer driven by Terry L. Harper, 74, Frontenac, was southbound on Kansas 7 Highway nine miles south of Girard, Kansas.
The SUV struck a 1989 GMC truck driven by Antonio Zamora Gallardo, 64, Miami, Oklahoma, who was backing out of a private drive on the east side of Kansas 7. The truck driver failed to yield and backed out across the highway into the path of the Blazer. After impact the truck overturned.
Harper was pronounced dead at the scene. Gallardo was not injured. Harper was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
