SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas man died in an accident just before 3p.m. Tuesday in Sedgwick County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Buick Century driven by Travis Smith, 41, Newton, was northbound on Interstate 135 just north of 85th Street.
The Buick crossed into the median, traveled northbound in the southbound lanes and struck a 2011 Ford Flex driven by Paulus, Emily Paulus, 16, Hillsboro, head-on
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported Sedgwick County Forensic Center. EMS transported Paulus and a passenger Laura Paulus, 43, Hillsboro, to Wesley Medical Center. All three were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
