SEDGWICK COUNTY — A Kansas man who struck and killed two people who were changing a tire on a highway in November 2022 has been sentenced to prison.

On Friday, a judge sentenced 26-year-old Travis Mock of Wichita to seven years in prison and three years probation, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.

In May, Mock pled guilty to two counts of involuntary manslaughter.  He was originally charged with involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Ram pickup driven by Mock  was northbound on the ramp from Interstate 135 to eastbound Kansas 96 in north central Wichita just after 6:30p.m. Friday, November 11, 2022.
