HARVEY COUNTY —Authorities investigating Monday's fatal train, tractor accident have identified the victim as 21-year-old Taylor Koehn of Halstead.

According to the Harvey County Sheriff's office, Koehn was driving a farm tractor pulling disc equipment southbound on South River Park Road, crossing the railroad tracks at Southwest 24th Street four miles east of Burrton. 

The tractor was struck by an oncoming train engine at the railroad tracks. Koehn was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Authorities opened the rail line early Tuesday morning, according to BNSF.

According to the Harvey County Sheriff, a farm tractor was pulling disc equipment southbound on South River Park Road, crossing the railroad tracks at Southwest 24th Street four miles east of Burrton. 

The tractor was struck by an oncoming train engine at the railroad tracks. The 21-year-old driver of the tractor was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The intersection will be closed to traffic for an undetermined amount of time, according to the sheriff's office. Identification of the victim will be released pending notification to the family.
