Martha (Peg) Jane McAdams-Fegter, 85, passed way in the home on June 11, 2020 in Manhattan, KS.
Peggy was born in Salina, KS on September 3, 1934 to Bert and Emma Vinson Eye. She was a graduate from Abilene High School in 1951. Peg married Donald Raymond McAdams, from Herrington, KS, on March 2, 1952 who preceded her in death. Peg married Stanley Edward Fegter, from Manhattan, KS, October 9, 1976.
Peg worked as a receptionist and switchboard operator at McCall Pattern Company and held positions at Kansas State University and First Bank. She stopped working outside the home in 1986 to babysit her first grandchild and the six who followed.
Peg, known as Nanny to her grandkids and their friends, took pride in babysitting all seven grandkids throughout various stages of their youth allowing dual-working parents the confidence that they were being raised with love.
Peg and Stan enjoyed dances at the American Legion, traveling to visit relatives, snow skiing in Colorado, and playing cards with friends. Stan and Peg attended Westview Community Church. Peg also loved roller skating, shopping and auctions, being in the sun and any time with family.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Stan Fegter, of Manhattan; children Mike (Lisa) McAdams of Manhattan, Sean (Lisa) McAdams of St. George and Marcie (Warren) Scipio of Manhattan; seven grandchildren, Whitney, Taylor, Jaron, Dakota, Tiesha, Warren and Mariah; 3 great-grandchildren, Bryce, Mason and Addison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Vinson and Kenny Eye, sister Mac Cramer and two sons, Richard (Rick) and Mark McAdams.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
