Hit-and-run: Driver struck Kansas boy on a bicycle

BUTLER COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a hit-and-run incident involving a bicyclisst.

Just after 7p.m. Sunday, a child riding a bicycle in the 2400 block of Mainsgate near Ewalt Elementary School in the city of Augusta was struck by a passing motorist, according to a media release from the Augusta Department of Public Safety. 

The child suffered minor injuries, however the driver involved failed to stay at the scene and report the accident despite stopping momentarily. The suspect vehicle is described only as a gray SUV last seen northbound on Mainsgate.
