Troopers find 42 pounds of pot hidden in driver's car trunk

CHEYENNE COUNTY, NE. —State Troopers are investigating a Maryland man after they seized 42 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 80.

Just after 7p.m. CDT Sunday, a Nebraska State Trooper observed a Hyundai Genesis speeding on Interstate 80 near Sidney, according to a media release.

During the traffic stop, the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity. A search of the vehicle revealed 42 pounds of marijuana concealed in trash bags in the trunk.

The driver, Ryan Chun, 29, of Bladensburg, Maryland, was arrested on requested charges for possession of marijuana. Chun was being held in Cheyenne County Corrections.
