Corps of Engineers holding steady on water release

Posted Feb 20, 2021 4:35 AM

Water release from Milford Lake was decreased on Feb. 8 from 1,000 cubic feet per second and the Corps of Engineers is currently releasing 500 cfs to aid in the chloride levels down stream at Topeka, and to lower the elevation to the winter target of 1141.4 feet by early March. The plan is to keep the 500 cfs release going through the end of February.

The lake is 100% ice covered and the banks are being closely monitored, but no changes are anticipated at this time.
