SEDGWICK COUNTY —The Wichita Fire Department and Sedgwick County water rescue teams recovered the body of drowning victim just before 9p..m. Thursday.
Just after 3:30p.m., the fire department responded to a submersion call at the lake in the 2600 block of South West Street in Wichita, according to a social media report from Wichita Fire.
First arriving fire companies met with the calling party and eye witnesses where the victim was last seen. Water rescue teams conducted a two hour search and rescue operation before transitioning to a recovery operation.
Authorities have not released the victim's name or additional details.
