MANHATTAN, Kan. — Nick Gosnell, news director at Hutch Post and Eagle Radio of Hutchinson, was the first-place winner in the Audio/Video News Story category in the second annual Agricultural Reporting Award competition with the Kansas Farm Bureau. The award was presented Sunday in Manhattan at the Kansas Farm Bureau annual meeting.
To be eligible, journalists must cover agriculture in Kansas and their story must have been published or aired in a professional capacity with byline or credit between June 1, 2021, and May 31, 2022.
The story contained Gosnell's reporting on what Rep. Tracey Mann called the "farm-killer tax" proposed in the 2023 federal budget.
This is Gosnell's first award from the Kansas Farm Bureau.
