Kan. deputy helped woman with car trouble, arrested her

JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.

Just after 3p.m. September 23, a Sheriff’s Deputy stopped to assist a motorist with a 2016 Ford Focus on 158th Road and U.S. Highway 75, according to Sheriff  Tim Morse.

Deputies arrested the driver, Tonia Nicole Carlson, 49, of Wahpeton, North Dakota on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Morse. She remains in custody on a $50,000 bond, according to online jail records.
