
SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating the theft of a box truck from a church thrift store in Topeka located the vehicle early Saturday.
Just after 7:00 a.m. Saturday, a citizen who had seen the social media postings about this vehicle called police to report it sitting in the 500 block of SE Lake Street in Topeka, according to Police Lt. Matt Danielson.

Officers were able to confirm that this was the correct vehicle, and it was unoccupied. The contents of the truck were no longer inside.
The truck contained laundry baskets full of miscellaneous merchandise.
Police released no additional details and have not reported an arrest.

Between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. Friday, an unknown person stole a is a 2000 GMC C6500 (24 foot) box truck from God’s Storehouse at 2111 SW Chelsea Drive in Topeka, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.

The truck contained laundry baskets full of miscellaneous merchandise.
The truck is white with orange front fenders and Kansas Tag 779JXY.
