
SALINE COOUNTY —Police are investigating after 3-year-old was found walking alone in the street in Salina.
Just after 9:30a.m. on June 3, police were dispatched to a home in west Salina after two people found the girl walking down the middle of the street, according to Police Captain James Feldman.
Those people took custody of the child and contacted law enforcement. Officers attempted to determine where the child lived, but were initially unable to identify the child’s home.
Salina Police dispatch began calling residents in the area in an attempt to locate the parents. Dispatch made contact with 26-year-old Delfina Soto who was identified as the girl's mother. The investigation determined Soto left the 3-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy alone at the residence, without supervision for a couple of hours.
Soto was arrested on two requested charges of Aggravated Child Endangerment. The children were placed into protective custody.
