BARBER COUNTY—Officials were on the scene of a train derailment early Monday in Barber County. The Burlington Northern train derailed east of Hazelton, approximately 24 miles southeast of Medicine Lodge and just north of the Oklahoma border.
There was no danger to the homes and there were no injuries, according to Barber County Emergency Management. Everything is contained.
Officials in the area are expecting a lot of traffic. Tri City road is still open. What caused the derailment is under investigation.
