Kansas man allegedly threatened couple with gun

COWLEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect after an alleged altercation involving a gun.

Just after 3p.m. Dec. 16, a 55-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman, who live together in Arkansas City came to the police department at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday to report having had a firearm pointed at them according to a media release.

Officers interviewed both victims and learned an altercation had ensued in which the suspect, later identified as 60-year-old T.J. Hollins, Jr. had emerged from a home while brandishing a firearm at the couple.

He allegedly leveled the weapon at the pair as they fled the neighborhood and returned to their vehicle.

Police gathered sufficient information to apply for a search warrant for the residence, where they retrieved the weapon in question following a search and then took Hollins into custody without incident.

Hollins remains jailed on two requested charges of felony  aggravated assault and criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on a $25,000 bond.
