
SEDGWICK COUNTY —Police have identified the man who drowned on Thursday as 22-year-old Kyler Rutherford from Wichita, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.
Just after 3:30p.m. Thursday, the fire department responded to a submersion call at the lake in the 2600 block of South West Street in Wichita, according to a social media report from Wichita Fire.
First arriving fire companies met with the calling party and eye witnesses where Rutherford was last seen. Water rescue teams conducted a two hour search and rescue operation before transitioning to a recovery operation.
Search crews recovered his body just before 9p..m.
