
KANSAS CITY —Officials are working to determine the cause of a fire at a commercial building in Kansas City.
Just after 1p.m. Friday, crews responded to a reported fire in the 500 block of E. 1st Street, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.

Crews reported smoke showing from a single-story vacant commercial building. Offensive operations were initiated using multiple handlines.
Searches of the structure came back all clear. KCFD was able to get the fire under control just before 2:00 p.m. No injuries were reported.
