LEAVENWORTH COUNTY — The search for an inmate who escaped from a satellite camp at the Leavenworth Penitentiary is over.

The U.S. Marshal's Service Fugitive Task Force arrested 50-year-old James Thompson, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, according to a statement Tuesday from the U.S. Marshal's Service

On Nov. 10, authorities discovered Thompson was missing. A federal grand jury indicted him on one count of escape from custody.

He is currently back in federal custody. Thompson was serving a sentence of 80 months in prison in the Northern District of Georgia for mail fraud at the time of his escape.
