
SEDGWICK COUNTY —Two Kansas men accused of a home invasion killing made their first court appearance on Monday.
Shannon Cavitt Jr., 39, and Caviontay Conway, 21, both of Wichita were charged with First Degree Murder, burglary, aggravated robbery and kidnapping, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
Just before 8a.m. August 15, police were dispatched to a shooting in the 5200 block of East Gilbert in Wichita, according to a Officer Chad Ditch.
Upon arrival, Officers located 49-year-old Dennis Haynes unconscious and not breathing. Officers began life-saving measures. EMS transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation revealed that Haynes and several other people were inside the residence when two armed men entered and shot the victim.

They then fled the scene on foot. On Saturday, police reported the arrest of Cavitt Jr. in connection with the crime. On August 18, police reported the arrest of 21 Conway. They are each being held on bond of $500,000, according to the district attorney's office.
