Brigade roll to win in home opener

Junction City ( 1-1 )opened the home portion of the summer collegiate baseball season with an 11-3 win over the Baldwin City Blues ( 1-1 ) at Rathert Field Friday night.

Junction City jumped out to a 10-0 lead after five innings behind the strong pitching of Cody Jones. They also got a home run from Jace Essig and a triple from Cade Graff in the win.

The official attendance count was calculated at 293 fans. Major General D. A. Sims threw out the first pitch

Baldwin City defeated Junction City 5-3 Thursday night. The teams play again Saturday night in Baldwin City.
