Kansas woman accused of murder during weekend robbery

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal shooting and have arrested 27-year-old Tishara R. Moran of Topeka.

Just after 11:30a.m. Saturday, police responded to a call for service at a home in the 300 Block of SW Polk for a check welfare, according to LT Jerry Monasmith.

On arrival, officers found 38-year-old Christopher McMillon with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

As a result of the investigation, police arrested Moran on Monday, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.  Moran is being held on requested charges of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery. The crime is Topeka's 22nd homicide of 2020, according to Spiker.
