KANSAS CITY —Felony charges have been filed against a Kansas City man who fired shots from his vehicle, fatally wounding man on the street, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
Andrew Harold Bostic, 62, faces Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Armed Criminal Action charges.
According to court records, Kansas City police were dispatched officers to the area of Armour Blvd and Broadway after the victim was found unresponsive in the street. Emergency responders determined the victim was deceased.
Video surveillance from the area showed Bostic's vehicle on Broadway. The vehicle is stationary while the victim interacts with it. The victim is punching the air or shadow boxing but no one is near him.
Then, the victim throws a traffic cone at Bostic's vehicle. He doubles over and stumbles as he tries to run away. He collapses on the sidewalk. Detectives located the vehicle in the parking lot of a building on Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. Bostic told police that he fired a shot as a warning.
