SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old woman.
Just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a shooting at a business in the 900 block of North Grove, in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.
At approximately the same time, officers were sent to an area hospital in reference to a walk-in shooting call.
At the hospital, officers contacted the 23-year-old woman who had been shot. She died of her injuries, according to Davidson.
At the hospital, police also contacted a 54-year-old man who had been shot. He was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, and released.
Investigators are working to learn all the details of what occurred. This is not believed to be a random incident, according to Davidson.
Police are asking the public if they have any information on this case to contact them.
