Suspect wanted in Missouri captured after Kansas traffic stop

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect wanted on a felony warrant in Missouri on multiple charges after a traffic stop in Kansas.

Just after 11:15 p.m. Sunday, a deputy conducted a traffic stop near SE 29th and Croco Road in Shawnee County on a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta for an equipment violation, according to Sgt. Todd Stallbaumer. 

The driver, Diandre L. Spates, Sr., 47, Topeka, was arrested and booked into jail on requested charges of  felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony interference with a law enforcement officer and the felony warrant from Missouri.
