SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that injured a 14-year-old boy.

Just after 7:15 p.m.  Wednesday, police responded to a shooting at a home in the 1300 block of North Oliver in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.

Upon arrival, officers located a 14-year-old boy who had a gunshot wound to his upper body.  EMS transported him to an area hospital for medical treatment of a serious but non-life-threatening injury.

Through the investigation, it is believed someone accidentally shot the boy, causing his injuries.  A lack of cooperation in this investigation has affected investigators from learning all the details of this case.

At least five other people were in the home when the shooting occurred and the shooter and the victim knew each other, according to Davidson.

The victim's name has not been released.
