Police: Kansas man in critical condition after shooting

SEDGWICK COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that critically injured a man.

Just before 8p.m. Monday, police responded to report of a shooting in the 1300 Block of North Terrace in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.

At the scene, police found a 59-year-old victim in a Jeep SUV who had been shot and was was in critical condition.  EMS transported the man to a local hospital were he remains, according to Davidson.

Investigators learned that the victim and an acquaintance had gone to a home in the 1300 Block of North Terrace regarding a  prearranged property transaction.  There was a disturbance during the transaction. A suspect fired shots a the vehicle as they were leaving that struck the victim.

This was not a random incident, according to Davidson. He did not release the victim's name or report an arrest.
