SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a homicide in Topeka.
Just before 8p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1300 Block SE 8th for a hit and run accident, according to Police Lt. Donna Eubanks. Officers located a man on scene who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
First responders pronounced him deceased at the scene. Detectives were notified and traffic was shut down along 8th and 10th street between SE Locust and SE Lime.
Police have not released the name of the victim.
