People gathered in the 900 block of North Washington in downtown Junction City for food, live music and a chance to simply visit. The occasion was called Grub and Grooves, coordinated by Military Affairs Council Director Craig Bender.

The event began at 5 p.m. and by 5:15 there was a line of people waiting to purchase food from the food trucks that were set up for Grub and Grooves. He estimated turnout during the evening at approximately 250 people. "I think people enjoyed the music, they definitely enjoyed the food, I think each of the food trucks had a pretty steady line most of the night."

The food service included The Chef and I, Bobby's Food Truck, Pineapple Whip and Filipino Cuisine. Bender noted that there was good social distancing but also good interaction. Denims and Lace provided the live music.

Bender said this type of event will occur again in the future.
