
KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Law enforcement authorities are investigating another homicide in Kansas City.
Just before 10:30p.m. Sunday, police officers were dispatched report of a shooting in the 2500 block of Jackson Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez.

When officers arrived, they located an adult female victim suffering from apparent gunshot trauma in a grassy area outside of a residence. Officers immediately began to render medical aid until EMS personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital. Officers were notified by hospital staff the victim had succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
There is not currently any preliminary information indicating what transpired prior to the shooting. We do not currently have anyone in police custody.
Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel responded to the scene to begin collecting evidence and gathering witness statements. This incident is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.
