Sheriff: Kansas deputy found cocaine during traffic stop

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on drug charges after an arrest.

Just before 1a.m. Friday, a sheriff's deputy  conducted a traffic stop on a white 2009 Pontiac G6 in the 1400 block of SE Lott Street with an expired license plate, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.

The driver 27-year-old Ronnie E. Taylor Jr. had a suspended driver’s license. During the investigation, the deputy found illegal narcotics.

Taylor was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charged that included possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, expired vehicle registration, no vehicle liability insurance and driving with a suspended driver’s license, according to Christian.
