3 Kan. teens accused of $100,000 in vandalism at 2 homes

SCOTT COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating extreme vandalism at homes in Scott City and have made arrests. 

On April 7, police responded to an address in the 900 block of Church Street in Scott City to observe damage to a second house in two days that had been vandalized, according to a media release.

The extensive damage to the interior of the home on Church Street is estimated to be between $75,000-$100,000.

Police determined that the three juveniles involved in the estimated $15,000 in damage from a house in the 300 Block of West 8th Street in Scott City were the same juveniles responsible for this incident on Church Street.

A third suspect that was previously cited and released to parents was arrested and transported to the Southwest Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Garden City.

Three juveniles have been arrested for these two incidents. Police are also still seeking information on a gun that was found during this investigation.
