TOPEKA ā Governor Laura Kelly held a press briefing Thursday afternoon to discuss the upcoming September 15, deadline to extend the current State Disaster Declaration.
She said she will ask the state finance council to extend the disaster declaration. "The lives of Kansans are on the line and I implore them to extend the declaration." Kelly will meet with the State Finance Council on Friday morning.
The Governor was joined by Kansas Adjutant General David Weishaar who explained the programs that would discontinue if the state disaster declaration ends.
