Deputies force entry into Kan. apartment during drug investigation

BARTON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities searching for a meth distribution point in Great Bend have made three arrests.

Just after 3:30 p.m. Friday,  sheriff's detectives and deputies executed a search warrant at 5210 10th Street, Apt. 9 in Great Bend, according to Sheriff Brian Bellendir.

When the occupants of the apartment failed to answer the door, the Sheriff’s Office forced entry. Deputies located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at the location.

They arrested 51-year-old Kenneth Reed of Great Bend on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and no drug tax stamp. Reed is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

Misty Bryant, age 42 of Hoisington, and Michael Hurd age 44, of Great Bend, were also arrested. Both Bryant on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine. They are both being held on a $10,000 bond.
