KHP looking for witnesses to fatal hit-and-run

JOHNSON COUNTY —The Kansas Highway Patrol is seeking assistance from the public to identify witnesses to a fatal hit-and-run fatal that occurred just before 2:30a.m. Saturday on southbound Interstate 35 just north of the exit to Santa Fe in Johnson County, Kansas.

The collision involved a pedestrian and a maroon Volvo truck tractor, commercial vehicle, hauling a white trailer.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a maroon Volvo semi hauling a white trailer was southbound and struck a pedestrian identified as 27-year-old Maxwell Michael  Pozek of Lenexa and didn't stop.

Pozek was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Johnson County Medical Examiner's office.
