2 hospitalized after rear-end crash during Kan. chase

BROWN COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 3p.m. Saturday in Brown County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1999 Ford Taurus driven by Billy M. Archie, 41, Lake, Mississippi, was being pursued by law enforcement eastbound on Kansas 20 and 5th Avenue in Horton.

The Taurus rear-ended a 2017 Chevy Silverado driven by Mohr, Jay E. Mohr, 57, Platte City, Missouri

EMS transported Archie and a passenger Bridgette A. Mercasdo, 24, San Antonio, Texas, to the hospital in Hiawatha. Mohr was not injured.  All three were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.  Authorities have not released details on what prompted the chase.
