Civilian employees at Fort Riley have been included in the first phase of COVID-19 vaccinations. Col. Will McKannay said, "Many of those first  vaccinations did go through our Department of the Army civilians who work at the hospital. And some of my own Department of the Army civilian police and security guards who work here at the garrison, some of the maintenance workers and some of the other training support employees are civilian workers, great many of those."

McKannay noted they're right along side the Soldiers and are considered mission essential.

The garrison commander visited with area media this past week.
