JEWELL COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 3p.m. Monday in Jewell County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1976 International Truck driven by Robert S. Newell, 59, Mankato, was westbound on Q Road just west of 170 Road.
The driver was negotiating the curve to the south. The truck entered the west ditch, overturned and came to rest on its top facing south.
Newell was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Melbry Mortuary. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
